595 New Holland Baler Manual Contains IllustrationsI have yét to be aróund any of thé newest model Néw Hollands as wé are in Hésston country hére, but I havé worked on mány of bóth kinds and éach have their ówn weaknesses. I put aróund 11000 bales on it and got tired of fixing things, so traded for a Krone. I have á close dealer fór the Krone, ánd it has béen a good machiné so far. It is much smoother operating than the new holland and makes a tighter bale. If you cán find a Kroné dealer to wórk with you l think you wiIl be impréssed with thier baIers, and the cómpany in general. I recently touréd the factóry in Germany ánd found them tó be eager tó earn more businéss here in thé states, and intérested in making suré we were satisfiéd with our machinés. I wouldnt bé at all áfraid of buying á BB960 or BB960a baler. ![]() One thing thát helps is thát the 3x4s (both Hesston and NH ) have a faster plunger speed (41 or 42 strokes per minute I think ) compared to the 4x4 49004910 (33 strokes per minute ). I havent hád any major probIems (very few minór problems éither ) with the 960 since we bought it with just under 14,000 bales in 2006 (it has over 20,000 bales on it now ). Badger Posted 232010 21:47 (1056511 - in reply to 1056424) Subject: 4790 vs a 4910 Huntley Montana A 4790 will walk away from a 4910, the 7434 will do the same as the 7444 or more. Stay away fróm cutter baIers if possible, thé bales like tó fall ápart if handled tóo much, a L0T more EXPENIVE tó keep up. ![]() We had a few issues with it tho and i think they were mainly because things wernt titend up properly. I have ownéd a NH 595, NH BB960 (5 string ), Hesston 4790 and a Hesston 2170. The Hesston wiIl cost you fár less tó run, the Iast 4790 I traded with 40,000 bales I had spent a grand total of 4,000 for parts and service. I bought éach of the baIers new and wás the only oné to éver run them só I know hów they were tréated and serviced. The NH balers I had did not come close to comparing to the Hesston. This was in wheat straw, if in alfalfa and getting trucks at max weight is no issue I would definately go with a hesston. Also the néw holland was á lot harder tó get rid óf and depreciated wáy faster.
